FAQS

Life coaching is not about the diagnosis. Life coaching is about uncovering what is waiting inside of us to be discovered. Discovering the best in us takes time and guidance.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES AND SIMILARITIES BETWEEN LIFE COACHING AN PSYCHOTHERAPY?

Psychotherapy is a long term process in which a client works with a health care professional to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders thru verbal communication or "talk-therapy" using different psychotherapeutic methods and modalities.

In life coaching a client work with a certified professional coach (CPC) in order to clarify goals, identify obstacles and create an action plan to achieve desired results. Coaches do not diagnose and do not treat mental and emotional disorders.

Both, psychotherapy and life coaching, work to enable clients to make positive changes in their lives and become more productive and happy people. In some instances clients do both, coaching and psychotherapy.

THE COACHING PROCESS

There are a number of models coaches follow but in general most coaching follows the process of:

  • Clarifying what you want

  • Assessing where you are right now

  • Reviewing your resources and options

  • Creating an action plan

  • Instilling motivation and commitment

  • Keeping you on track

  • Celebrating success along the way
