Friendships are important for your teen and your young adult child. They feel safe, stronger and wiser when they are with their friends. They take care of each other and they share information. Stay connected and know your kids friends. Friends are important but you are too.
Feelings come with a lot more intensity during the teenage years. The feeling part of their brain will often take over a lot more than the thinking part affecting what they do, what they say and how they react to different situations. Their brains are magnificent. This is the time for your to listen and guide them on how to balance between their feelings and their thinking at different time.
There is a big transition from elementary school to middle school. More classes, more book, a complex schedule of classes and an expectation to advocate for themselves with their teachers and school administration. I can assist in preparing you and your child for what's coming next.
