Wandering Traveler

Experienced. Certified. Knowledgable. Supportive.

Welcome to my practice. My name is Paola Gancman. I am an associate marriage and family therapist (MFT) at West Valley Counseling Center in Tarzana, where I work with individuals (adults and adolescence), couples and families under the supervision of S. Burnett, PhD, MFT license #16203. I have a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and over 20 years of experience working in the field of psychology and education.

Before coming to West Valley Counseling, I worked as a teacher and preschool director at Page Private School and director of middle school admission at Milken Community Schools.  I have also been involved in my children’s school life by volunteering in different committees and serving as president of parent association at Stephen Wise Temple Schools' and deToledo High School.

In 2017 I opened my own life coaching practice where I work with parents, teens and young adults supporting my clients define goals, set realistic expectations and in navigating life transitions. I understand the pressure that parents feel raising children in today’s competitive world. At the same time, I believe it is important to support teens through the emotional, social and physical changes that they go through during their teen years and how it all affects their relationship with the world around them. As a parenting coach, my goal is for parents and their children to find balance, happiness and success in school, at home and in life.

Outside of coaching, I am a  mother; a wife and you can often find me in a spin class riding at the beat of great music.  I am originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina and moved to Los Angeles with my family at the age of 15. I  cherish my heritage and embrace and respect the place that I now calls home. I am share my life with my husband and our two beautiful children. I am bilingual and I offer coaching in English and Spanish.
